Motherpuking Angry

The back pain continues, but it’s gotten even better. Woke up this morning totally dizzy and barfing.

Went to the doctor, gave a sample of the ol’ urine, and I guess I’m peeing blood.

You know… This is kind of what I was getting at when I was talking about how irritating it was that I was given certain pain killers in lieu of others. What I went home with was Vicodin, which, as some of you know, contains acetaminophen (Tylenol) – a drug associated with kidney damage.

I’m wondering if it ever occurred to the ER doctor to consider, just for a moment, that my back pain might have been due to a kidney problem, and that giving me a pain killer that could just make the problem worse…

Well, you get the picture.

Anyway, I find out tomorrow if it’s any big deal. In the meantime, I’m going to hang out here, spin, and barf.

And I’ll probably stop blogging for a few days.

Argh.

It would seem to me, in light of Rory's recent state, that there is a huge market for a human debugger. Any takers?

Hey Rory,

Sorry you are in such pain - don't let up on your self-diagnosis of kidney problems. My doctor diagnosed pain I was having as back problems for many years until it was discovered I had a congenital blockage that destroyed my kidney and they had to remove it (hence the domain name.) I wish you didn't have to go through so much crap - best of luck to you.

Back pain and peeing blood? I immediately thought kidney stone. I had the mother of all kidney stones almost 10 years ago. It was lodged in my kidney and a little smaller than a marble. Way to big to pass. I had to have this procedure where the stone is shattered by sound waves. The doctor put a "stent" in my ureter (that's the tube that runs from your kideney to your bladder) that was supposed to prevent the fragments from clogging the ureter. It didn't work. I was in much more pain than before they shattered the stone. The doctor had to remove the stent and replace it with another (of a different design). Now, let me say, I was knocked out when they put the stent IN, BUT I WAS WIDE AWAKE WHEN THEY TOOK IT OUT. And I don't have any scars to show for it, if you know what I mean (except emotional ones). Anyway, I was pissing sand and gravel for a month! When all the fragments were out of my system, it was back to the doctor's office to have the second stent removed...

Needless to say, drinking WATER EVERY DAY because a regualar part of my routine...

Seriously mate, it seems to be one thing after another with you! Seems like you need some rest as much as anything, your immune system must be shot to shit. I know that's not going to sort your (potential) kidney problem but from listening to you on DNR you've been sick on and off for MONTHS! Have you thought about just taking a bit of time off and getting yourself sorted?
