I live next to a fairly busy street, and there are car alarms going off constantly
outside of my apartment.
I've never been able to figure this out. I think it's probably been a good ten years
since anybody took car alarms seriously, and probably even longer since a theft was
shut down because of one.
People just don't care. When I hear an alarm go off, I want to walk in the opposite
direction and never think about it again.
Actually, I want to walk over, kick the car, and then walk in the opposite
direction, never to think about it again.
This makes me wonder what car alarm owners are thinking. Do they really believe that
their alarms are making a difference?
Do they really think that their cars are safer, and that good-minded citizens
will throw themselves in Harm's Way to save a car that's going off?
