The first presentation of the day was by Jeff Barr of Amazon.
He was, as you might have guessed, going over the various web service offerings from
Amazon. Pretty cool, gave me some good ideas that I'll probably never implement simply
because there are things on this planet that are more important than just making more
dough..
If you want to see some of this stuff in action, then you might check out the couple
hundred feeds of RSS spam that Chris Pirillo created. Probably not my favorite demonstration
of the technology (as my friend Dominic put it, "Oh! It's like getting 160 free banner
ads!"), but a demonstration nevertheless.
Jeff's a good speaker. Nice and coherent, which is something I appreciate. We're on
break right now, but he'll be back in a minute for some Q&A.
On another note, Sam Ruby wasn't able to make it, so we'll be without him today.
