Lunch was uber interesting today.
I saw Chris Sells and Brian
Jepson sitting at a table, and made straight for it. Through their web sites and
presentations, it's easy to get an idea of what interests these guys, but I wanted
to see their real sides.
Brian jumped right in without any prompting, and admitted that he:
"Is against mushrooms in principal, but will eat them."
Why?
"Because I'm afraid they are going to rise up and take over the world."
That's awesome. Not only can the guy code, talk, and edit books with the best,
but he's nuts, too!
He then went on to discuss working at home, and what it's like to spend the entire
day with his pets. As he was recounting a tale involving his cat taking down a full-grown,
frothing at the beak wild turkey, Chris made the observation that Brian was telling
the story from the cat's point of view, including the thoughts the cat was having
at the time.
I'm pretty much just in awe. I really dug the guy's presentation yesterday, and that
was before I even knew that he could communicate telepathically with animals.
It was so interesting that I forgot to eat anything. That's OK, though, because, thanks
to some things I said about Java yesterday, I've been eating my words all morning,
and am just totally stuffed.
