Two words: Stroker Ace

I'm excited because today I'm able to get back to my routine of watching your webcam all day. Yay! Time to break out the magnifying glass; it looks like there's a bunch of new stuff for me to read on the whiteboard! After that I wait for people to walk up behind you and then I scream "Rory! Look out! There's someone behind you!" at my monitor (the guys who sit next to me *love* that). I also like it when you have convesations with people on camera because then I get to make up your exchanges. The down side is that you guys seem to always talk about each others' appearances and very little else. "Hey, Rory, I see you're still working at that computer." "Yep, I sure am, old guy. Why is your hair so shiny?" "It might be the cream rinse I use. Are you wearing that jacket because you're cold?" "No, I just wear it because I like the lapels." It goes on and on from there (see how boring?). Why must you always focus on the externals?? So, to summarize... 1. Write bigger on the whiteboard 2. Have more interesting conversations 3. Keep the webcam rolling!

Oh, crap :) I've been having a more or less miserable day (for quite a few reasons). That comment was the first thing that got me to smile all day.

Oh, and, yes - I *am* cold in here. They keep the AC on all day because there are lots and lots of people in the building who are wearing suits. I'm a contractor though, and so am allowed to look like a total slob. It gets me nasty looks in the elevator, but I thrive on that sort of thing anyway. A couple people have even said they were going to call security. Yes: I look *that* bad. Nobody's called yet. I've just said, "Hey - I don't recognize you either, BUDDY, and I was thinking about calling security myself." Gotta love what 9/11 did for melodrama around the workplace.

The conversation you just had with the guy in the greenish shirt (with glasses/without facial hair) was a little less superficial than usual. Keep up the good work! So, did you really take down your site for few minutes just to play mind games with the guy who was looking for webhost recommendations? That's good stuff! :-)

My site went down? Lame. I *wish* that had been a joke. Hm. I wonder what kind of uptime I'm actually getting. 75.999%? I might have to have a talk with these people...
