The feeds are available now, but they are most definitely in what I would call a "beta"
mode. I haven't had a chance yet to test everything, but it seems to be working pretty
well.
I have another set of RSS Amazon features coming up, but what's already up isn't too
shabby. Anyway, being the first charitable application of RSS (that I know of) kind
of makes up for the few bugs that we'll probably encounter.
If you want to check it out, then click
here.
If you don't check it out, then don't worry about it. I've already figured out the
two possible reasons that any of you might not want to use this service:
-
You don't "get" this whole RSS thing (I'm going to write a tutorial to help you out
here)
-
You hate charity (I can't help you here - Your heart is black, and that's all there
is to it)
So, if you're planning on buying something through Amazon, you ought to see if these
feeds are of some use to you. You don't lose anything (except guilt), and I don't
gain anything (except more coding experience). We wind up helping people for kicks,
which is pretty cool.
I'm going to throw together a voting component before too long so that we can choose
the charity to which the dough will be sent. I'm planning on switching charities every
quarter.
Speaking of which, now would be a good time to start suggesting deserving
recipients...
