[Note: This was written at about 6:30 PM on Sunday]

Actually in the air now.

I’ve never flown Southwest before, as I consider it to be a peasant’s airline, but must confess that it isn’t really all that bad.

The airline attendants, while doing the whole "in the event of a water landing" joke, were actually synchronized in all of their gestures. It was incredible, like a crappy ballet conducted in the brown and lighter brown that are the official colors of Southwest airlines.

Things are a little choppy at the moment. Made it a bit difficult to use the most non OCD-friendly bathroom in the universe (it’s way too compact to be able to operate the handles and levers with my foot). It took me about ten minutes to wash my hands, which is at least two minutes longer than it would ordinarily take, so that was a little sucky.

Aside from that, our scenery for takeoff was a gorgeous sunset, the likes of which can only be seen when southern California spontaneously combusts, forcing you to change your plans at the very last second.

I can’t help it. I’m really enjoying myself, and I haven’t even gotten to the conference yet. I’ve never driven through the desert that sits between Las Vegas and LA, and I can’t wait to see it.

I guess this means I’m going to have to get a map that shows how to get from Nevada to California. The fun continues…

The only thing I’m sad about is that I’m not going to have time to actually do anything in Las Vegas aside from leaving it. It’d be fun to stop in somewhere and lose all my money.
