Stuart and John seem to be having an argument over this comment in which Aydika signed her name as “Not his girlfriend anymore.”
As much as I like the idea of an argument about my current state of spousal freedom, I am not currently Aydika’s husband.
I am, however, her fiance.
This comes at the end of a couple months of serious thought on marriage. I asked assloads of people what they thought about marriage. People who were happily married, people who were unhappily married, people who have been once, twice, and thrice divorced…
And I got a lot of feedback.
It was a weird decision for me because I had never previously considered myself to be the marrying type, but this one just seems so obvious. We work well together. We want many of the same things. We even argue well.
Right now, we’ve tentatively chosen Hawaii for our wedding because it’s the halfway point between Japan and the states. If you’re interested in going, then consider yourself invited :) We don’t know when it will be yet, though.
Anyway, I have to run – I’m in Dallas for a team meeting, and we’re getting together in twelve minutes to talk about something or other, and I’m, like, supposed to be there ‘n stuff because I’m, like, part of the team or something.
So I’ll leave you with a photo of us on the night we got engaged (looking at this photo, I think it’s obvious that Aydika’s getting the better end of the deal, but at this point in my life, I’m willing to settle)…

She’s beautiful, talented, witty, ambitious, and, as Joe Stagner put it after meeting her, “Smart as a whip.”
Yeah. I’m a happy little bastard.
