A Few Minutes At Channel 9

Hey, mom -

You wanted to know what I do at work.

This is what I do. Just click on the link and a video will open. It's no too complicated.

I'd write more, but I've been busting my hiney all week getting up to speed on my job, including creating a new weekly show for Channel 9. Tomorrow, I'm flying out to Connecticut to record the 200th episode of .NET Rocks.

In short, I'm really tired.

Anyway, I hope you're doing well and all that crap.

Tah,

Your son (Rory)

So...  I forgot how much people in Redmond start their sentences with "So"!  Cool video man.  See you next week in the US of A.

Hey... I've been starting my sentences with "So" for *decades*.

I think it's a Pacific Northwest thing.

It's a way of beginning a sentence in the middle of a thought - a way of getting out of having to write an introduction.

As thought I stumbled upon the keyboard and just happened to think now might be a good time to share a thought midstream.

So...

Rory,
I enjoyed the clip.
I'm trying to get on top of a new job as well. Don't know what I'm doing yet most of the time!

A Few? A FEW? that EIGTHY FOUR MINUTES OF MY LIFE I WILL NEVER GET BACK! (i watched it twice)

What are the requirements for a nomination for best supporting actor? I think, rorwie,  your left eyebrow should really be in with a chance - see around 4:05. Thats just *stunning*. Cir de Sol has nothing on your eyebrow.

Hiya Ror,
Yes, I was asking about what you do on the job.  I watched this intently, but I'm still wondering , what exactly is it that  you do ?  Whatever it is, it looks like fun. OK,  I've got to get ready to teach 147 kids French tomorrow.  Love, Yo Mama

Did you get any good art? I could do with a bit more art around the office.

Perhaps a nice sculpture to replace the co-worker I lost.

Love the video, was fascinated by insights into your OCD almost as much as I was by meeting the various team members.

But how come we never see you and Charles on video at the same time? I don't want to seem like a conspiracy theorist, but has anyone seen Charles and Rory at the same time? Or are they really the same person?

The eyebrow lift was definitely a classic. It almost disappeared into your hairline. Amazing. :O)

Ah, the buzz of those refrigerators . . . sounded as though you guys were about to be zapped to death by some James Bond evil villain. "Mr. Blyth, what is your last request before I let you fry...?"

It looked like it was actually a sunny day there in Seattle. Almost unheard of, this time of year.

Sounds like you're having fun. Take care - bliz

I'm a little bit confused as to why they didn't make you President?  Or at least Vice President?  Don't they know who you are?

That picture of your grandma's lover looks strangely like you?

ps. Is Janine single?

pps. The kuckles thing is too funny. :)

I don't remember if it was Milli or Vanilli who died, but one of them ought to be able to help you out with that.

This *is* what I do.

I don't know how to explain it, either.

Have fun teaching.

Also, tons of people have mentioned that I look like Raphael (for those of you who don't know, he was my grandmother's boyfriend - before he died of TB).

Charles doesn't have the same insecure need to be in the spotlight that I do. He prefers to remain off camera.

I'll try to sneak up and get him on one of these days - he's actually quite handsome, and a very interesting/funny guy.

If you really care that much, then you'd stop being so selfish and move back up here to hang out with me...

Evidently NOT.

"That picture of your grandma's lover looks strangely like you?"

I've noticed that, too. So have many other people who've come into the office.

I'd suspect a thing or two, but it's impossible given the timelines - by the time my mother was born, Raphael was dead.

"ps. Is Janine single?"

You'll have to ask her, my friend :)

"pps. The kuckles thing is too funny. :)"

I love doing knuckles with VPs. There's something very satisfying about it.

I didn't, but I might.

I had her write her autobiography for me one year, and the story is in there. My uncle just finished scanning the whole thing in so that the rest of the family can have copies - I could always post bits and pieces here and there.

The stories are fascinating. Love - Nazis - War - Paris - Ballet  - it's amazing what she went through...

You've moved on to much bigger and better things. I'm glad I was there to see some of the beginning. Who would have thought that a simple question ("so how's Kori's knee?") would lead to a good friendship?
