    Forum ideas?

I was wondering if any of you had any ideas for new forum categories that would be interesting.

I have a couple very "neopoleon" ideas that I'll be putting into place, but they're going to be...

    ...special :)

I'm thinking more along the lines of general conversation categories.

And it looks like GuyIncognito and punky are the most active forum users - would either of you guys (or both) like to be forum admins? You could create new categories at will, organize things however you wanted.

Could be fun. And you're both bloody weirdos, which is perfect for being a Neopoleon admin :)

I really want to get the forums going. I've enjoyed my occasional dips in here, and I want to see more activity...

punky the forum admin? Sure, I'm always eager to impose my idiosyncrasies upon the world. Much obliged.

As for forum categories... dunno, they'd have to be evocative, to spur folks to write something. What do people like to talk about? Apart from sex, tech, music and religion, I guess mostly themselves. I know I do.

Looking forward to the "special" categories, and I'll try to rack my brain for some crumbs of inspiration regarding categories. Hm. Damn grey matter, be more creative!

A pretty obvious one would be 'blog post proposals - what you would write about on your own blog if you just had an iota of talent'.

Speaking of blog post proposals... you used to write quite a bit about coder culture and communities. My problem is with the 'used to'.

I should actually be getting back into the dev culture and communities thing soon.

It's not definite, but it's looking fairly likely.

And that's all the Rodawgg can say...

Also, Neopoleon won't be my platform.

Thanks for the offer, but I'm not much of an admin.  In fact, the admin is my arch rival and he my sworn enemy!

    I endorse punky though.

Sounds interesting. I find the culture and communities of coders a peculiar thing, and I have my rants and issues, which I'd vent on my blog if I had the talent and perseverance. You know, like it's OK to wear clothing that's not necessarily practical, and that might require ironing. It's OK to get a professional hair cut. It's OK to read books that doesn't involve dragons or spaceships. That sort of thing.

Thanks for the endorsement. But if I become an admin, will that make me your rival and enemy? That kinda sucks, because you seem like a nice guy, and also because then you probably won't endorse me anymore. And if you don't endorse me, I might lose my admin status, which ironically might cause you to re-endorse me, and so I might perpetually oscillate between admin and non-admin status, and I'd just be utterly confused.

So I'd appreciate it if we could all just get along.
